In this music-hall-style text, the Ravensbrück deportees are described and harangued in turn by a strange naturalist, before slipping away. Invoking memories of popular tunes and the joyous feasts of yesteryear, these women fight their inhuman condition with the most formidable of weapons: joie de vivre. Une Opérette à Ravensbrück gives us an opportunity to see and hear the humanity and fraternity that were maintained in the camps, despite the horror.
